The Vice Presidency of the Minnesota State High School League Board of Directors was awarded to Bonnie Spohn.

A 20 member committee, which Spohn joined last year, elected her to the new job on Oct. 5. Spohn, a long time Speech coach, earned her former position on the committee as a representative for the Communication and Theater Association of Minnesota.

As Vice President, she has become part of the MSHSL Executive Council, charged with administrative tasks.  “Among other goals, this year we’re hoping to review the classification of school divisions,” Spohn said.

Last year, the 30 year Director of the MSHSL retired, leaving the position open.  “As part of the hiring committee, I’ll be a part of interviews starting next month,” Spohn said. In addition to her role in the hiring committee, her new role will allow her to assist in the oversight of the whole organization.
