You may have noticed that a new student has joined the Eden Valley Watkins community. Zoe Lamarche is our new foreign exchange student that will be here for the 2017-2018 school year.

Zoe is staying with the Riel family, but is originally from Paris, France. When asked what one of the big differences between her home life and America is, she says, “It is very different, but one of the big ones is the size of the town. Here everyone knows everyone. It’s much different from the big city I’m from.”

Another big difference she talks about is the food we have in America. There is definitely a big culture difference in comparison to our foods.

Back in Paris, Zoe likes to hang out with her friends every day after school. From getting coffee together, going to parties, going shopping, going to the movies, or just hanging out at each other’s houses. “I’m always with my friends during my free time” Lamarche says.

So far Zoe has been enjoying her time in America “I like it in America a lot!” she adds. So don’t be afraid to say hello to her or to be friendly. Hopefully She enjoys the rest of her stay here in America and it will be a good experience for her.
